Question Yj seat covers?

Does anyone have seat covers for a yj? If so, can you post a picture of them? I am trying to find some that fit to the seat and look good. Also, what do you think about leather seats in a offroad vehicle? I want it to look good, but I am worrying about the leather drying out from the sun..

Thank you,
Justin

Stay away from leather as it is not a good idea in a off road vehicle. You want to be able to spray it out and keep the top down. Someday you will be caught in the rain. Leather would be ruined in a storm or two. Leather was fine for my old Porsche, but not in a Jeep.

I got my seat covers form O'Reilly's for about $20.00. They're a universal type, but they fit snug if you follow the directions on the box (I didn't first time Oops.).

If you are a regular "Wheeler," seat covers are nice because you can take them off and throw them in the wash for cleaning regardless of what seats you have underneath.

No matter what seats you get, UV is what breaks linings down on the seats and your dash etc.. There is a superior product called "303 Aerospace Protectant" you can find in Marine supply stores that is like Armour-All but much better. It's expensive, ($17.00 for 16 oz.) but this stuff is what you *really* want for your seats, dash, any plastic parts exposed to UV.

I wouldn't recommend leather seats unless you want to commit an hour per seat for cleaning after each time you go wheeling. Saddle Soap rub down first and then a leather protectant.

Besides all of the above, leather gets hotter than hades in the sun with the top down...

i just ordered some Rugged Ridge "seat vest" that are supposed to fit factory YJ seats from Quadratec. Arriving Wed/Thurs; I'll install and try to post a pic. I tried some cool looking Mossy Oak universals, but with the windows or doors off, they balloon and flap. Check Summit Racing or Quadratec for Jeep specific covers. They're pricey though.

They are their own Garage Pro brand. Regular price was $129 but they has a sale with free shipping. You could give them a call. I can't find the number or them on the web page. So far they havn't fallen apart and still look brand new and I am 6'2" and 300 pounds. Most reviews say they are not strong enough for hard core 4 wheeling which I don't. But even if one breaks I am not out that much. You have to watch their sales. I gave my catalog away.
Here is my old post when I got them:

I got some knock off Wet Oakle seat covers from quadratec. I bought the two front and got the rear one free. They feel great and even had some extra padding for my back. I think i paid 120 for all three pieces. Ive had them on for about a year and theyre still good, even after mud bogging and being put through the wash.

I just purchased a cheap set of seat covers a few days ago with seat belt straps and steering wheel cover (Black Hibiscus) for $50 bucks including shipping. I'm waiting for them to come in any day now. But since I went cheap, in doing some research I came up with this for the cheapest price for the protectant (which I will not pass up). High-Tec Fabric Guard I'll post pics when i've installed and sprayed...

I ordered the Rugged Ridge seat vests a couple of months ago and put them on my YJ (the first thing I did to it). I LOVE them! There are a lot of pockets on the backs that I've heard other's whine are just for decoration, but I've got an extra pair of clothes, some first aid equipment, and other odds and ends stored in them (small flashlights, glow sticks, bug spray, etc). And, they do look mighty sexy for decoration. They fit great as well... my one complaint would be that the ver top lining isn't as strong as I would hope and my stitching came undone a bit when I over-stretched it (my own fault, but I still expected something stronger).

Plus, as a bonus, I ordered mine from www.shopjeepparts.com as the "Rugged Ridge Interior Kit" and it came with roll bar handles for the front as well as the roll bar arch across the middle of the vehicle... all of that from shopjeepparts.com for $63... that's less than I could find the seat covers themselves anywhere else.

ROCK!
