YJ softopper & diamond plate

I finally ordered the Softopper YJ fastback top. I had been looking at this thing since last spring when it came out, but wanted to wait for a few reviews to come out before I spent the money. Well everything I read seemed encouraging so I went for it. These pics were taken right after I installed it. Obviously its gonna have to stretch out a bit and form to the roll bars, but even right out of the box (in 55 degree weather) this top looks great! The toughest part was the door surrounds. You have to really line them up well to get a decent seal. And of course, just hours after I installed it... it rained for the rest of the night. This morning... bone dry. This thing works. Comes with everything you need.

I also just took a few pics of the windshield frame cover that I bought from jeepdiamondplate.com... great guy, great products. I used some truck bedliner on the piece and i am really happy with how it looks. So at the end of the day... Softopper, JeepDiamondplate.com... Go for it! Great products.

How difficult was the install? And how long did it take for them to ship it? I ordered mine on Friday at 7 a.m. thinking they'd have it at least processed by the end of the day on Friday but no such luck. Hopefully it'll get processed and maybe shipped Monday. Nice to see what it looks like on an average joe's jeep rather than on a jeep owned by the company who makes the top since they always make it look just a little better than we can. haha.

I'm gonna get some additional pics up with the windows out soon. I have already readjusted everything once. As it sits in the warmer temps the fabric becomes more pliable, thus more fitted.

The install was a breeze and trust me, if I can do this you can definitely do this. All hardware included. You need a socket wrench set, a screw driver, a drill and a 5/16ths bit. After that, the top is entirely secured to the roll bars with some supplied straps. The windshield channel (smittybuilt) came with holes pre drilled, but I ended up using some self tappers to secure it because the pre-existing holes on my jeep just sucked.

As I said, the door surrounds were the hardest part because of the amount of adjusting you have to do for the way your jeeps doors sit. Take your time on that part and you will be fine. I actually used the holes I had drilled for my hard top for the side rails and that worked fine. All and all you're installing two side rail channels, the windshield channel, and the tailgate channels on the back corners of your jeep. Then you're off lookin awesome. And whenever you want, just zip the windows out and you're all set. So easy.

Got those pics with the windows out and just the safari top part on? Looked everywhere and everyone either has the whole top on or no top at all because their installing it. Mine is in town right now but has to wait til tomorrow to get to my house because it got here too late in the day to be on a truck but I'll be posting pics tomorrow evening once I get mine on and I'll take a couple before I zip all the windows in if the weather is permitting. Supposed to be 50s and rainy and I'll be selling the hard top an hour out of town before driving back to wait for my new top haha. gotta love jeepin.
