1955 cj5

Ok, first generation Jeep CJ5 with original running hurricane engine. That's the good news. Bad news is its body is covered in a sloppy dura liner material. Even interior dash panel is, yet all willys ID plates left uncovered. All gauges seem there but not original seat. Willys stamped tailgate but in rough dura liner covered shape. It's been lifted but basic frame seems very good. The guy spot welded the gas filler shut and covered in dura liner material too and is using external tank. Has nice period hard top assembly but outside all covered in that dura liner stuff again. Comes with two extra axels, transfer case, clear title and what I think is an earlier L134 Kaiser flat head. Got a snorkel air intake on it that looks cool. Seems original. So he is firm at $1800. A lot of work can get the tub and front back to metal and it does feel solid in most places. Worth $1800 or walk away? It is tagged with serial number that clearly makes it a first year, first run CJ5 and that original running motor and all associated parts makes it pretty cool. So, again, is it $1800 worth if cool or too much work?
