1974 CJ 5, what's your thoughts on this one?

This 74 CJ is on my CL that I search. Here's the info & pics. $4500.00 obo. I don't know much about the older jeeps(not that 74 was that long ago to me)so, can this actually worth that much?

"SIX CYLINDER, 3 SPEED 146,000 RUNS GOOD EVERYDAY DRIVER
POWER STEERING
33X12.50 15 INCH BF GOODRICH MUD TERRAINS
ALL FLUIDS HAVE BEEN CHANGED
6 POINT ROLL BAR
CB RADIO
SOFT TOP
NEW HIGH LIFT JACK
WINSHIELD IS CRACKED ON PASSENGER SIDE."

Thanks for looking.

Hard to say. Seems a bit high, especially if the tub is fiberglass and the axles are stock/stock gearing. But if it was a new steel tub, axles had good gears/differentials, and the rest of the frame, drivetrain, and electrical were in good shape, it would be a fair price.

The suspension looks preposterous, which probably means that d'shaft angles are wacky and suggests that the previous owner probably was a hack or an idiot, which doesn't bode well for the rest of the overall condition of the vehicle...

I second the looks of the suspension, You will have a project on your hands to get it right. Rust is the biggest problem we have here. Is it a steel body or glass? take a pad with you and climb under and look at everything. Poor workmanship should stand out. How much of it are you able to do yourself? The more you can do the less important the mechanical things are and the more important it is to just get a solid base to work from. The price does seem high for what the pictures show.

Thanks for the advice and opinions. I think I'll take a pass on this CJ.
