2wd cj

So i was craigslist creeping and find a 2wd cj. First question is why? I dont get that but i remember reading the 2 wds were just regular jeep with a straigjt axel in the front. Is that true? Are the mounting points there for 4wd? Are they worth anything as.is? Thanks for any info. Wth you cant have to many jeeps can u

2WD CJs were Dispatchers, or DJs.

Most commonly a DJ5 or DJ5A.
Also avaliable was a DJ6A IIRC, and a DJ3A (think the Surrey Jeep)

Many of these were later converted to 4WD by bolting in a front drive axle/transfer case/front drive shaft.
