304 Rocks

I have had a few 304s, but the last one was in a 83 CJ7 with a fiberglass body...I found it on ebay . It was a fresh rebuild from the bottom up. I have always like the 304s they are really good good engines . if you get a chance to pick one up do it you won't regret it.

304s are under rated. I put one in my full size jeep in place of a knocking 360 and used it to tow my off-roader 360 powered cj around...

Ive heard lots of 304 powered cj stories....

Well I talked to summit today about freshing up my 304 the rings bearings (rods mains and cam) the oil pump and the freeze plugs were $292 and you can get a mild cam kit for $102 so for about $400 bucks you can freshen up a 304 if you have one but that was all stock no bore and was federal parts besides the Cam kit it's summit brand cause I am putting my 304 in my 90 wrangler

That 258 is a good motor. I won over 20 street legal mud races with one in the Jeep/Scout/Bronco class a few deacdes ago.

Good low end torque and OK to rev it. Doesn't sound like a V8 but it gets the job done just fine
