71 Jeepster Commando Value?

Found this on a lot today and I'm quite intrigued. They're asking $5900 which seem WAY too high. It's in decent shape, new tires, updated engine, comes with a bikini top, rewired with a painless, dual exhaust out of the sides, a little rust on the hard top, but no rust on floorboards or frame. It's geared super low, again guessing it was used in the mountains and because it has a towbar on the front. It was taken in on a trade from Wyoming. I'm in Colorado.

What do you guys think it's worth?

I'm thinking $2500-3000 tops.

Offer them $4500 cash and drive it home.
It doesn't look original enough to me to demand a premium, but it does look solid enough to be worth around $5000 or so.
(Provided it is actually solid)
