Yeah, but from the looks of it, you only go as fast as you can push it.
: CJs are notorious for steering that wanders. When people say they have a sport car that handles like its on rails, well, that the opposite end of the spectrum that starts with a Jeep. So it'll never be "good."
But you could also have a worn out steering box, and the bracing on the box is weak. You could have worn bits all up and down the line.
I don't know who you're getting your advice from, but an expert is called for, I think. Somewhere in your town is a place called "Frank's Xtreme Offroad" or something sort of similar. Give them a call.
In my home town, they've got two or three old Jeepsters parked out front. They've seen sloppy steering on a CJ before, and they can help.
