79 CJ7 Build starts now.

Here is the last picture I have before it gets torn down.

I have aquired the parts so far;
44 Boggers
15x12 MT Classic II's
476 ci big block
turbo 400 (2wd)
Divorced 205 transfercase
Dana 60 rear w/ chromoly axles and spool, 4.88's
Dana 44 front w/ chromoly axles,

The stock axles have been stripped and sold and the tires and wheels should be mounted any day now. I will post some pics when we roll the meets under the jeep to start fabbing the suspension.

Thanks. I've been working on my wife's for a while but I'm taking a break to get mine rolling.

I don't plan on stretching it more than 2-3 in. That's main reason for the divorced 205. I want the jeep to "appear" to have a stock wheelbase.

A little update. My jeep build has headed in a new direction and will be momentarily postponed. The new direction is 2.5 ton rockwells and tractor tires.

With this comes the sale of my Dana 44/60 setup that I currently have if anyone is interested.

On the other hand, my wife's jeep (CJ7 of course) is moving along quite nicely. It 's completely stripped and the body work is being done right now. I have some pics that I will post up as soon as I download them off of my camera.

Her jeep is also a '79 and is a factory v8 automatic jeep. I'm going to run the 304 for now but I'm removing the quadratrac system in favor of 727/300 combo and dana 44's front and rear with 4.56 gears. It has a 4" BDS lift with 35" BFG AT's on 17x9 Dick Cepek polished DC1's. The jeep will be painted crimson red metallic with black seats and just about every piece of stainless they make. (Wife likes shiny). I'll post up pics soon.

It's not that bad of a drive. lol

I've got family in Tennesse so If you're serious about the axles, I could bring them with me when I go visit.

Knoxville, TN if you want to look it up on map quest.

My plan is to run 14.9/24 R1's. They measure about 50" depending on rim and air pressure. Whatever I get the best deal on will be what I run.

Update on the wifes jeep. It gets painted next week.
