Don't see the justification for the price..

Apparently being made in LA adds $70K.

I could buy a near original CJ all day long in need of some TLC for under $5000.00 and for another 1-2K make it exactly like I wanted.

They must not be selling too many of them since I have never seen one out here. And nick504 is correct about the addition of $70,000 just because it is LA.

The concept is solid but the price is way off.

For one, it's an all steel body, they used a GM Ecotec 4cyl, Jeep NP231 tcase and Jeep (JK) Rubicon axles.

I'd take the $50k+ some one would spend on one, and build two myself with V8's.

Their website says pricing starts at $96,000...not $80,000.

Ridiculous...plus it's not even a Jeep...they use Toyota Land Cruisers...

^they have both Landcruisers and CJ's. Both extremely over priced.

They build the body after the CJ/Willys...but according to their FAQ:

Is the ICON street legal?
Yes. Each ICON starts life as a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser (1960-1978). We recycle the vintage vehicle and the original vehicle identification is maintained.

So I guess there really isn't any Toyota Land Cruiser parts on it...but it's the principle! lol
