85 CJ Value

New to Forum, need some advice.

I have been looking at jeep over the past year. I'm in the market for a CJ7.

I have it narrowed down to one. Need some help pricing it.

It's an 85, 6 Cylinder, 4 speed manual. I believe it has been painted, there is no rust, no metal patch work, no spray-in bedliner, carpet, 113k miles showing. Runs great, drives great, brand new BFG 31 Alt on brand new Mickey T aluminum rims, Hard top, full doors, all gauges work, new stereo, new speakers and lock box. Vinyl seats are perfect, no leaks, full cover, garage kept, no signs of any off road use.

Guy is asking $9,600 for it. What should I offer and is there any thing I should be looking for that is a common fault of a mis 80s CJ7?

I'm looking for a weekend driver with light trail use.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

It would cost alot to get most of these 3 to 5K CJ's as nice as this one sounds! How about some pictures to help us.

Based on the very few pics posted, $9,600 is a heck of a deal. If the motor and transmission are solid you should pick that up now.
