This is what I have: Disc brakes (front/rear), brake lines run from master cylinder straight to the front brakes, also from the master to the rear brakes with a proportioning valve in line.
The master cylinder has been replaced. The brake lines have been bled numerous times. The pads are in good shape.
The brakes are not working properly. The stopping distance is not where it needs to be. The pedal is easy to push but the brakes take awhile to stop the jeep. It feels as if the brake lines still need to be bled but that's not the problem. I have a feeling its something to do with the whole setup. Maybe I need a proportioning valve, maybe I dont.
Quetions: What is the original setup for the cj7 (1982)? What should the setup be for my jeep with a v8, 305hp.
Appreciate any help in the right direction. It's frusturating right now cause my jeep has a new motor that needs to be run but it can't be run to much cause of the brake problem. Thank you
