Buying my first jeep

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase my first jeep and I need a bit of advice. I've narrowed it down between a 1986 cj7 and a 1993 yj. Both odometers read close to 100,000 miles. Both are also 4 cylinder 5 speed. What are some of the features that make one better than the other? Also, which would I have less issues with?

Here are the links:

I personally don't like 4 cylinders..they might be fine offroad but I want more power, especially on the road or in mud

engine to engine I would take the YJ.. as it fuel injected and has more power as I recall. That being said.. the CJ 4cly is slower than slow.. the Yj 4cly is just slow. if you can hold out for a 6cly do so.

Note the 86 cj is nice as it does have the rear dana 44 axle.

So an inline 6 would be much better? I'm only gonna be using it as a daily driver and to the beach once a month or so. Is there a big difference with gas millage? I'm not really gonna need much power behind it seeing as there's no off-road area around me.

My 4.0 straight 6 got 19 mpg with 31s and 3.55s. Thats about what you hear from most 4 cylinder owners if not less.. It will hold its value a little better too if you get the 6 cyl.

I'm for sure getting a bigger motor then. Gas millage aside, what about a 1980 cj5? I found one at a dealership, it has a 350 Chevy motor in it however. It's on ezjeeps.com, third or fourth listing down.

If you're looking for just a cruiser to take to the beach do a lot of shopping. CJ-5's are cool if you are short but the s-shaped door entry will catch your tailbone getting in and that will take your breath away. If it were me I would look for a nice CJ-7 with a six cylinder with a 5-speed or even a YJ since the later one's are fuel injected.
