CJ 7 Pricing. Good Deal?

I've always wanted a CJ, currently driving a JK as a DD and light to moderate trails. Is this a good price for this CJ? I'd like to drive it for a year or two and save up for a newer JK?

What questions do I need to ask about this jeep?

Qustions to ask:
1. who did the work?
2. Original engine?/trans/t-case etc....
3. Gear ratios/ which rear axle amc 20 or dana 44
4. Pic's of resto
5. proof of work done?

from the pic's its a nice looking CJ.. 86 is the last year CJ and nice to have...Keep in mind.. there is not AC so not sure if you need that for a daily driver.. hard top is nice...

For the price 11.500 you could get a nice used TJ with better ride, better HAVC etc.. but then again that is not the same as a CJ....

If you just look at the wiring you can tell it isn't stock. The engine was probably swapped. Could also be why they didn't post mileage on it.

yep, no 304 in 1986

but 86's with the 258 had a 5spd manual (only year a 5spd available in a CJ.

Looks nice, but is not original.

My local heavy duty truck repair shop re-arched my springs for a 2" lift on my CJ.

This used to be very common before everyone and their uncle started selling aftermarket springs.
