CJ5 Levi Edition Questions

My buddy stopped and looked at a '78 CJ5 Levi Edition jeep. It is also a renegade by the stickers. It has a 304 and assuming a T150 behind it. It is a driving project.

My question is it has a blue hardtop and blue hard patroler doors. I've never seen eithe before on a cj5. I assume from them being blue they are part of the levi package. Are these "rare"? Im trying to get a value on them since he would prefer a soft top.

Thanks!

I don't recall a blue Levi's hard top/doors.
Maybe it's an aftermarket Acme top painted to match.

Post pics.

Not sure how serious my friend is. I have a crappy pic but doesn't show the top or doors. If I go look at it I will.

The guy is asking $1800 for it and it has quite a bit of rust...little frame but the tub is another story. He was wondering how much the top and doors would bring to offset some of the price. My guess would be $600-$800 but I dont know the cj5 market. I haven't seen many hard doors for cj5's.

A steel top, Myers or Konig type, will bring $200 - $500 with doors, depending on the area, demand, condition, etc.

Fiberglass Acme tops for later CJ5s (fit 76/up) are generally in higher demand, but again it depends on your local market since these tops are not shippable by conventional means.

If you do get the doors and top ,
Lemme know there's a guy in the jeep club here in need. (if you decided to sell)

Thanks for the info. He is going to pass on the 5. With his needs a CJ7 or YJ would be a better fit.
