Fenders, hood, and grille should swap over without too much trouble.

Doesn't the YJ grille have a slant to it, whereas the cj grille is straight?

I'm going to be doing the same front end swap. I have an '89 YJ, and I recently purchased used CJ-7 hood, grille and fenders. Buying all new sheet metal like what was done in that article was too expensive for me. I bought my used parts all together for $240, versus over a grand for the new stuff. As you can see, they were rusty, but straight. I had the parts professionally sand blasted, and I spray them inside and out with 2 part epoxy primer to preserve them. With that extra work done, I'm still dollars ahead of buying new metal. Plus, the original factory sheet metal is thicker metal than the new stuff.
The two biggest mods required are, shaving some metal off of the inner fender panels, and relocating the front grille mount on the frame.
