Could this fit

My frame cracked on my '74 CJ 5. I got a guy who has a frame for a '76 and I wanted to know if it would fit and would I have to change a lot around.

can you just weld and plate your frame or is it to far gone to do that?

We plan on boxing out that part of the frame. But if that frame fit $200 isn't a bad price to pay.

In '76 the rear section of the frame was widened compared to earlier models, from about the front of the door and back. Almost none of the body mounts will line up with a '74 tub.

It can be done, with lots of fab work... not a simple bolt-on swap.

I have a 1972 Frame...same as 74, with 304 V8 mounts. It needs pulled, but clean. It was from a totaled jeep at our shop I picked up. It just needs put on the frame machine to be squared and back into measurements...no big deal. I was thinking of doing another Intermediate CJ5, but I don't think I will be ambitious enough to do it...lol!

Only problem is, I'm on the East coast...
