dana 44 axle

does any one know the width on Scout II dana 44 axles... I was wondering if it would work in a cj5 with no machine work?

It's about 60-61". It will not fit without work. You will need to outboard your front springs to match the width of the perched on the axle. Also the inner c's on a scout 44 are set at 0*..this is bad. Should be closer to 6*. A waggy 44 is a better front because the c's are close. If you want to go to 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern you use ford brakes. I might know someone with a waggy front they sell.

Scout 2 axle front remove knuckles turn min 6 degrees (I have 4" lift went 10 degrees) If wanting CJ wide track cut 3 5/8" off drives side. then you have to get your pinion anlgle right. cut off old spring pad weld on new one. go with drivers side blank chrome molly shaft cut and spline.
