I am assuming you decided not to rebuild what you have. Why? That is the easiest. What do you plan on using your jeep for? Why do you want to new drivetrain? If you answer these questions, I can help you with a more informed suggestion.

Take care,

Check "YJ V6 Conversion Swap" if you want to see my "frame up" restoration that anyone can do.

Check "WWII Willy's restoration and usage..." if you want to see THE ORIGINAL JEEP IN ACTION.

It has electronic problems. I've had it to the shop and they can't fix the problems. They can't buy the parts needed anymore . Ive put so much money into it already and new problems come up. I'm done. Time to start fresh with I new engine. I think.

what motor do you have now? Theres nothing that cant be had for your current engine, It may be cheaper for you to find another shop and get another set of eyes on it.

I agree. These engines are so simple, you can find used and new parts all over the Internet. I just swapped in an AMC V8 in place of my old 6. Parts available without difficulty. Your shop is poorly informed.

I 3X staying with the 4.2 a good shop should be able to get you going or maybe a carb swap and a nutter bypass for the computer. MHO
