Funny pop from my front end

Well I just bought myself a project. I took it out to a big lot and decided to play with the 4wheel drive. Locked the hubs put it in 4hi and started turning. It doesnt want to turn all the way left with the hubs locked and while I was turning right i heard a big pop and then the steering freed up. I looked all over under the jeep and can't see any damage. How do I test it to see what's not working up front? If it maters I have a Dana 30 in the front with An ox locker. I've never had lockers before so is maybe that par of it?

Big paved lot or grass lot? If on dry payment, it would bind on you and might have made those sounds locker or no locker on. I would check the front u-joint caps make sure there are all good.
