How much lift before?

How much lift can I go on a CJ8 before I have to do a TC drop or modifying my driveshaft(s)
Going to go with the YJ springs conversion SUA
4.2 4spd with the Dana 300 TC.
I am thinking about either a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 lift. Running 33x12.5x15 tires
This is my parents Jeep and they will not be doing anything crazy. Basically its going to be their vehicle up in the mountains of Ruidoso NM.

Thanks in advance.

Well I decided what to do tonight. Pulled the 3 1/2 Superlift off my green 87 YJ and put it on the CJ8. Looks great. Good drive shaft angles and everything. Plenty of ground clearance so I know my parents won't get into any thing they can't handle.
And the most important factor, Mom and Dad love it.

Thank you very much. Picked it up for $4000.00. Have put about another grand in it just doing up-keep and maintenance the PO neglected to do and got to the point where I am sure it was going to cost him more to fix than he wanted to put into it.
$766.00 in new tires and the wheels came off a 79 F150 I scored for $50.00 bucks and the winch that was on that truck is now on my 88 YJ. After some cleaning, re-greasing and fixing some wiring issuers it works perfectly. So I still have about another grand to go to get it where we all want it and then I am done. So looks like total investment my parents will have in it is some where in the neighbor hood of $7000-7500 and it will be dang near re-built. And they are going to have a blast up in the mountains of NM when it is done.

Got a little more time before that happens demps. I am about done with working under the '8. Next I move up top and start working on mechanical and electrical issues.

And then it's on to the green jeep in the background

When I had the four and half springs on with stock shakels it did not vibrate, when I put another two inches with the shakels it got a little vibration so I made a one and a half inch tcase drop and it has no vibration now. However I have not run it with the thirty fives yet so I dont know what its gona do when i get it back on the road.

First pic is springs second is with shakels

Mom and Dad came up today to watch my middle daughter in her cheerleader competition and after wards we went out to the shop so they could see the lift. They loved it. Acted like two little kids who daddy let them sit in his truck and pretend they where driving. LOL Oh man I can not wait to finish this Jeep so these two "kids" can go have fun.
