Make sure you get hi-lift jacks & jackstands or you'll have to buy some bricks too!

Few things from some who has owned 2 cj's.

The 258 is a great engine. Stock hp @120hp. Less than a 4cly YJ. However it has gobs of torq. Hence the reason to replace your stock 2pc axle shafts with after market 1pc shafts. It should also be noted the two vids that were posted appear to be YJ's with the dana 35 axle not the amc model 20.

HA HAHA HA HA!!!

You got me! You freakin' got me!!

My shade tree ways are showing!

Instead of buying hi-lift I used solid blocks of wood. bricks have a tendency to crumble under weight. I didn't even think to tell CJlover that.

Good high lift jack stands and a floor jack is probably going to cost more than he's willing to pay. Sounds like he only wants to drop in a header and dual exhaust, though.

An 85' CJ7 pushed 120hp? I could have sworn they only pushed 112.

I couldn't find any Youtube videos of an older Jeep with a busted AMC 20 at the time. I found one with a busted front axle but not one with a busted rear. But I'll look further.

Here's what I suggest: I suggest you forget about the six-into-two header and just get a six into one. The dual exhaust deal is really more for looks than function when you're dealing with a stock 258. You should get a six into one Hedman header and a Borla muffler.

Cat back exhaust: $360.00

Hedman six-into-one header: $270.00

X2 on the wood blocks. had a bad day dealing with cinder blocks once... nobody got hurt but I spent a good 2 hours trying to remove the remaining 3 without making matters worse...

Would it be better to just get the borla header instead of the heddman header?

You'll have to do your research on that one. I haven't dealt with headers for a long time. Hooker headers were the thing back in the day. It'a hard to say with headers if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty. The problem with headers is they crack in certain places. You'll have to just do your research, man.
