looking at a CJ5

what do you guys think about this 66-
1966 JEEP (Kaiser CJ-5)

not familiar with the CJ's so what should I look for when I go take a look at it? thanks!

take it for a test drive. dump the clutch a little heavy in each gear to make sure none of em pop out. (common with CJ's) .

take it in the dirt somewhere and test each TC position out.

those are the two biggest things to look for IMO. that'll give you some idea of the tranny, TC, and engine condition. anything else on a CJ is really simple enough that it isn't really a deal breaker (but might give you some haggling points if you find other issues). even the electrical on the old CJ's is really simple and easy to deal with, and that's usually the thing that gives people the most issues.

the CL post got removed though, so it might be sold and a moot point anyway.

Not a bad price. But it's only dressed as a GI Joe, it's no military jeep. So, don't let the seller make a big deal of that.
