No, will need new gears. What's wrong with the 20? Add some aftermarket shafts and it as strong as a 44.

Do you have wide track or narrow track axles? What gears do you have? I have a narrow track amc 20 with 1 pc axles and 3.54 gears in the shop I am not using and would sell cheap.

What dana 44 do you have? Only one that will "bolt in" in a rare dana 44 from a '86 CJ7.

wide trac and i am not sure of the gear, just began my search for the rear end. trying to get some info first would rather keep the model 20 that i have but i do not trust that axle bearing.

Well the '86 CJ dana 44 usually bring pretty good $$ to anyone that knows what they have.

The model 20 is a good rearend. I saw your other thread but didn't have a answer but you might have something wrong with the housing or ??

I say you got 2. something gears. If you have larger tires it may not be a bad time to get a different set of gears. Ive seen a few sets of axles already setup for a reasonable price for sale lately.

thanks for your input, the large tires did change the ratio compromising low end torque.overcoming it somewhat with the low in the transfer case.good enough for now but if i have to change the rear end want to fix this along with some type of locker
