New to me 80 CJ5

i just joined the jeep word yesturday. its a 80 cj5 with a iron duke in it. it has a 4 speed that has reverse issues. it pops out. motor is supposed to have less than 2000 mile on rebuild. it runs pretty good. doesnt have a bit of rust in it. to top is fair but has some small holes in it. 4WD works good in it to. i was told its a T18 tranny but i have no idea. its not a granny low 1st gear. i work at a junk yard for a living and get all my parts for free so i just need to identify the tranny and get one pulled out for myself. i traded my dune buggy i built for it, straight up trade. i had a very hot 2.3 ford in the buggy and really liked it but i couldnt throw the kids in the back seat. maybe i should have built a 4 seater. lol. any way here is some pics of the old girl. any help with the tranny would be great.

heres the buggy i traded for it.

well all was going good today till i took it out on the highway. it started running very poorly. i had a spare carb the guy gave me that he said was new and couldnt get it to run right. i had my neighbor over telling him about the problems and he noticed when i turned my spare carb upside down a bunch of black chunks fell on the floor. he said its charcoal from the emissions thing under the hood. he said the carb on it is probably clogged up to. i took my spare one apart and it was full of that stuff. it runs a rochester progressive carb. does anyone make an adapter to run a holley 350 2 barrel on the 2.5? i know those carbs very well and i want to ditch the complicated linkage thats on the rochesters. i can get a rebuildable core from work and rebuild it for the same cost as the rochester.
