Nice 1970 CJ5...but pricey

Here is a nice ride to beat in the woods. It is supposed to be a 1970, but it is a '76 and up later style with 1970 title. Different frames, etc....anyways, I hope it comes out on here ok....

McComsey's Machine and Jeep Shop

Neat, but I would be afraid of busting something after paying a price like that

I would just like to visit that place sometime. Looks like they have some great Jeeps there!

That Scrambler is nice and it's been on there for a while...not much drop in price...still too much for my taste...especially with all the fiberglass....

I bought my first jeep from these guys and didn't really care to much for all of their short cuts and covered up rust. They had installed a 3" body lift and wouldn't install a longer batt cable so the cable was as tight as a banjo string and no battery hold down. They claimed it was "jamboree ready" Crap, I was afraid to take it down a dirt road till I worked on it for a month.

No Kidding... I have never been to their shop, or even near it. It is about 4-5 hours for me to get to that end of the state. Just looked at their site a few times to see what they got.

I think this CJ5 is shady. VIN and title transfer, no way is that a 1970 frame or body. No big deal, but I know the frame of a pre 1976 cj and post 1975, and the body differences. Big dollar amount for switched out paper work...

If you were to think about buying anything from them, make sure to ask alot of very specific ?'s, and if you are that close then you would want to drive there and look first. check out the pics close and notice there short cuts, like where the metal brake line comes thru the frame, they have it metal to metal and loose, not too good. I talked to Bruce there and wasn't real impressed. When my Jeep arrived I noticed the fuel tank was empty so I went to the gas station and filled it up, then noticed that the fuel was leaking out of a hole in the side of the fuel tank almost as fast as I was putting it in. Yet never a word about this in all of our conversations. So be warned. Oh ya.......take a look at the transfer case skid, Aint that a beaut, you would think for that much money they would use the right one or a bitchen custom one but I think they just look out in the scrap pile outside the barn and use the first one that looks close.
