no sway bar (need on got questions)

Ok im picking up a new cj in the next day or 2 and have a question. The jeep has the spring over axel lift and has no sway bar on it. The first thing i want to do is get a sway bar on it, the next is return the springs to the factory location. So do i have to wait to change the spring back to the factory location before getting the sway bar on or can I put the sway bar on first and it will it still fight correctly after i put the springs back to the correct location.

Springs first, then sway bar.

What year CJ?
The early ones, at least '71 and prior, did not have sway bars.
