non moveable vent windows

Okay this may be somewhere in the forum but I can't find it. I have been helping my son get his YJ togther for the great day, (Oct 15) when he gets his license. We have been working on it together. (You can't buy these times.) anyway I figured we would just replace all the rubber after we had taken it apart. This allowed us to just cut the rubber when we wanted to get something out. Unfortunately like a dope I cut the rubber around the non moveable vent window. only to find out, upon rebuild, that you can't get the rubber. After buying from almost all the parts guys who promised me that they were selling me the right item I find out that it is not available. So I would have to buy the vent, rubber and channel to put the door back together. Oh yeah! You can't buy those either. So I tried buying a door. (BIG $$$) but no one has one in Cali and the guys out of state don't want to remove the rubber and vent they want me to buy the whole door and pay shipping. Before you ask, no, you cannot replace the non moveable vent with the moveable one without serious surgery on the door. (They are already painted and true.) Anyone have a suggestion?? Help?? Place??? One to sell???

I went through the same issue with my cj door rebuild. It was several years ago, but I got a kit with all the rubber and the window scrubbers. I do remember it being very difficult to reassemble. I ended up only doing the drivers door, I ended up selling them on craigslist as-is. I'll try to look through some paperwork to find where I bought the kit.

The inside of my cj is rhino lined, so when I had my doors repainted to match, I took off the cardboard and carpet door panel. I traced it on some sheet metal and cut out a replacement panel that I had rhino lined to match. It actually turned out pretty well. Not really your question but it came to mind while I was thinking about the doors.
Also, are you currently an 18 series MOS?

Went through SWCS a few years ago for CA school. We used to help run robin sage...Good times. Currently, I'm an A Team leader in the CA world.
And I'm still looking for the window parts & info. I've acquired too much jeep stuff!
