Old jeeps

1971 AMC CJ Jeep Renegade V6, Brand new $2000.00 just off the showroom floor. Picture taken just weeks after purchase. Renegade pulling a 1948-51?? Willy's "M 3-B" (According to my mom) In the picture I am the skinny blonde boy with my Dad, Mom and 2 sisters. I learned to drive in the Willy's. Dad didn't know it, but at that time, Dad was teaching me to steal his jeeps later in life for my own driving pleasure! Were talking at age 13. That'll teach you Dad for giving me the bug so early! I miss you Dad and "Look Dad!" I have a jeep now too!

SWEET! & Sweet!

What a cool dad ... Miss mine too... 3 years now. It's a Jeep thing ... We understand!

Nice pic! Thankz for sharing that memory with the rest of us. Not ashamed to say that that pics brought back my own memories and a tear. Always think of my dad & this sort of stuff when I take my boys wheeling.

This ones for you Dad !

The "old" jeep in the picture is a Willys CJ-3B, produced in the US for civilian use from 1953 through 1968. There were some military versions produced, both in the US and by foreign manufacturers under license from Willys. The one pictured above has civilian cues.
(Note that an "MB" was a WWII version, and did not have the high hood (seen above on the CJ3B) required for the later F-head, overhead valve engine.)

Technicalities aside, that is a really cool pic! I especially love the '71 Renegade... I owned a '71 (non-renegade) for 16 years...
That 3B looks like a great trail rig!
