Perfect Jeep?

Hey guys, I'm normally on the JK side but have been contemplating another ground-up build. I did a '64 CJ6 once, now dumping $ into the JK but have to plan ahead for these things!!

If I do it, my objective will be to keep it licensed but go full-retard with it. Here in Iowa there are not very many limiting laws.

The ? for today is; which tub would you use? The CJ6 was a bit too long and the 5 a bit too short, but IMO look the best. Engine bay size not a deciding factor as a 4 cyl diesel is in my head.

here's the 6;

CJ7. Look best to me, decent space, can run hard top and doors easily if needed, and parts are easiest to come by.

All reasons I built my 86.

Actually my latest idea is to use a YJ tub and put the CJ grille and lights into it. And I agree about the hardtop and doors!

Get you a rusted cj8 and cut the tail end off. I have done mine but its rust free and just cant hack it up.

This is the perfect jeep. Just like a superduty with a 6bt.
