So recently purchased a 1969 cj5 with a 225 3 spd with Warn overdrive....

I changed all spark plugs, new oil, new antifreeze, and hoses.... always starts right up everytime....

Problem is there is only one gauge.. spedometer.... kinda a project....

Earlier today i noticed some milky substance coming out from the breather on the valve cover.... No clue what it is....

So drove to work... 20 miles... one the way home the jeep seemed to run out of gas.... but had just filled it.... IMPOSSIBLE.. There was no smoke, no steam, no sign of anything....

30 minutes later started right up and drove home.... weird!

So i have................. Milky foam coming out of breather
Noticably more smoke coming out of that same side
exhaust....

Checked the oil and it was nice and clean, no foam or anything....

Bad gas, sludge in the tank, fuel filters? Could be something like that. You'll know it's more than just filters if they keep filling up with junk. I had an old jeep that needed a new gas tank and it would fill up filters and blow a little smoke because the engine was running on gas with junk in it.

Bran new gas tank.... checked oil again this morning.... seems like a mixture of gas and oil.... just by smell.... but with my sense of smell who knows.....

Thinking maybe the ass who owned it before me didnt tune the holley carb, and its running rich and overheating possibly? Its a 4brl, which seems overkill to me for just a 225.... however its an older carb so until i just replace it WITH A EDELBROCK.... I gotta figure out how to tune the dam thing

Also noticed that there is no Anti Freeze overflow tank.... is this normal for these old of vehicles..
