The quadratrac is probably shot. Gotta remember, it's ancient. IF I recall correctly, it uses a clutched cone assembly, which is not uncommon for a worn unit to have the clutch slip, sometimes massively. Also, the chain in these units is prone to slipping, snapping and just flat failure.

Never had one, but if I remember all my research from years past, that's the one with the switching thing in the glove box, correct? If so, I think it's vacuum operated and possibly you don't have enough vacuum going to the t-case to activate the front. Just spitting out ideas.

Quadra trac is not like a gear driven tranfercase! The front end slips/clutches off the drive of the rear!

quadra trac ?? front won't pull

providing the "switch" in the glovebox is in decent shape, turn the knob to the right until it stops. the vacuum hoses going to and from this "switch" may need to be replaced. I run locking hubs all the way around on mine, and if someone turns one of the hubs out, it won't move until you dial the "switch" to the right. I stripped the splines out of my left rear hub once, and I tried to pull away from a stoplight, but it wouldn't move until I dialed it over to the right. Properly serviced, and taken care of, the Quadratrac works pretty well. I've been using mine for almost thirty years. In the old days, desert racers driving Jeeps used them for years. Bad rap due to chain issues, etc. Keep the chain tight, use the right oil, and additive, and it will work for a long time. Hope this helps. Worth every penny. Good Luck
