Sad day for me...CJ 5 being traded...

Well, I guess I'll just have to look at your rides and drool from now on...I'm trading my 1972 CJ5 304 V8 and my wife's 1997 TJ for a 2008 JK...

Can't pass up a great deal, and the CJ and TJ are the choices on the chopping block...need to thin the herd.

Thanks to all you guys who have given info. and helped along the way with the CJ...

Oh, Steve, say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always admired your nice clean CJ... I hope you're getting a pretty penny for it!
I know what its like to let your long-term project go... my '71 has been gone for almost 5 years now.

Best of luck to you!

Feel your pain.

Had an 85 CJ-7 from birth, but when it started to be more of a hangar queen, I sold it to someone who would use it. I would see it twice a day, coming and going to work. Now after 7 years it's become a hangar queen again. I'm about to go and offer to buy it back... except it was an AMC year and the POS little motor in it makes me think there's probably a better answer.

Thanks Lynn...It was hard, but my wife's TJ was gonna need some work, and the CJ didn't get driven at all last year...electrical fire, but got it repaired. I hate electrical wiring, and that was what was starting to go on it. Got $8200 for the CJ and TJ as a pair. Ended up getting the JK for $10,700...couldn't pass it up. The dealer wanted my CJ more than the TJ, which was pretty cool. My wife couldn't believe I let it go, cause this jeep is more for her than me. I'm gonna build up my YJ for harder wheeling.

Well congrats on the new jeep. I dropped my wifes car off at the ford dealership and they had a '07 JK among their trade ins. They are nice vehicles.

Hopefully the CJ will go to a good home as yours.

Thanks Nick. I will find another down the road. Just was the right time and place. My wife actually cried...lol...she felt bad that I was giving it up, but it was gonna happen at some point. I only had put about 35 miles on it in the last 2 years. Did the Jeep Jamboree last year for the first time in my YJ and it was more fun. It was nice to have power steering and power brakes. I wasn't sore and beat up from the fun...lol...but not having the 304 was a bummer...With that V8, you hit the skinny pedal and it rained mud for 30 seconds after you let off the gas...gonna miss that!
