size wheels??????

Hey i have a 82 cj7 restored from the ground up and i was wanting to put new wheels on it. i am running 33X12.50 15lt. i am looking to keep the same tires on it but just replace the wheels. i have a 2-2.5 body lift and don't the size of wheels to get. when i say size there is all those backspace measurements and positive and negative offsets. if u have any information on the size of wheels i need let me know? thanks jordan

Well, what is the backspacing on your current wheels? Do you like the stance? If you are going to keep the tires then you will need 15x8 or 15x10" wheels. If you like the looks/functionality of the profile on your tires now then stick with the same width wheel you currently have. You don't need to concern yourself with offset for a Jeep application. Offset is mostly applicable to cars. Backspace is the measurement from the inside rim of the wheel to the center where the wheel mounts to the hub. I'm not familiar with CJ's much, so Idk what the factory bs is, probably around 5", but it's easy enough to measure.

Some wheel companies even make a 15x9. That was a popular size when I worked in a 4 wheel drive shop a couple of moons ago. They hit a sweet spot right in the middle for those wanting more than the 15x8 but less than the 15x10. Good luck with your choice.
