Suspension question

My '86 wrangler hits hard on bumps. I looked under and the rear shocks are completely compressed and the leaf springs look almost flattened out. Changing shocks did not help. This is an off road only jeep with a short pickup bed like conversion. Any ideas - like bad springs maybe? Thanks.

After you changed shocks, were they still compressed all of the way? I would assume its because your springs are in bad shape. Since the springs support most of the weight of the jeep, changing shocks wouldnt do much good until the springs are in good order.

Sounds like you need new springs. Do you have a lift?

I thought the springs might be it. Got a cheap source for new ones?

I'd recommend old man emu 2 1/2" lift, great ride and flex.

About $100 a spring.
