What do you guys think about this cj7

So I had a guy offer to trade his 83 cj7 for my 98 tj as he wants a safer jeep to drive his kids around and he wants one he can lift himself. He told me it's a yellow lifted CJ 7. It a 1983 cj7 frame, lifted 4 inches, sitting on newer 33" mud tires, it has a* fiberglass tub on 1" rubber spacers. The total lift is about 6 inches. It has a chevy 350 small block. Edlebrock covers and airfilter with a Rochester quadrajet carb. Duel headers with duel exhaust with glass packs. Auto with hurst shifter. Its titled in Mass as a 1993 Wrangler from the fiberglass body with vin tag. Runs and drives great, and it sounds awesome with a ton of power. Front locking hubs, four wheel drive works perfect. I haven't looked at it yet but what do you guys think? I already know to keep a close eye on rust/rot, but any thoughts?

I guess it's a matter of what you want. I am going from a 98 TJ to a 79 CJ I hope I did the right thing! We'll find out when it gets here and I start driving it daily (yea a 32 yr old jeep) for my daily driver. What are your plans fro the CJ what shape is the TJ? could you take pictures of both?

My tj is a 98 straight 6 5 speed sport model. It's got new 31x10.5s, 1 inch body lift, 1.25 inch wheel spacers, kc daylighters, new battery, new steering box, dynomax exhaust cat back. 164k on the clock. Bedlined frame and tub, virtually no rust, new soft top, and lots of paint, like black rims, bezels, grill, bumpers, etc. I have pics of both but is there any way to post them from an iPhone?

If it was last registered in mass and your going to register it in Connecticut, you will have to have it inspected. If it was last reg, in conn. you don't.

Sounds like you have the TJ the way you want it, what do you want in the CJ that the TJ can't do for you? My TJ was getting rusty and I had to make the choice of one or the other and chose the CJ. Now I'm still waiting for my CJ to get shipped from Colorado.

I really want a lifted rig that will turn some heads but still have the reliability that I want. I don't have the money to get that out of my tj right now, do that's why Im looking to trade. The frame off restoration and engine/drivetrain transplant was just done in 04 so it has the reliability I want without a spec of rust
