What is a CJ Tailgate worth?

I am cleaning out the garage and have a clean CJ Tailgate with the hinges and straps just collecting dust. I was going to put it in a TJ. I thought the TJ would look nice with a CJ tailgate and Jeep stamped on it.

Will a CJ gate fit a YJ? I was thinking about that the other day...LOVE the stamped Jeep logo.

I think it should not really sure since I don't have a YJ but I think it should fit. I can't remember where I have seen write ups on it.

CJ gate should fit YJ with very few issues.

A gate with the big "W" or "Willys" on it would be collectible, but I don't think a standard CJ gate is worth all that much. I might be wrong - they do rust out.

In reality, things are only worth what someone is willing to pay and how badly they really, really want it and just have to have it.

I saw a couple on ebay yesterday that were rusted and not is great shape compared to the one I have and they were asking $150. I think mine might have a spot or 2 of some surface rust but nothing rotting out and the inside is lined. Maybe I should just hang it on the wall like a picture. Not sure the wife will let that happen.

I don't want one, I have one. But I don't know where you live but I have been through plenty of junkyards from PA-NC and in CA and AZ and I don't see many CJ's there. Maybe where you live it is different. I was trying to find out of price because I am selling mine.

Maybe check eBay, advanced search, sold items.
