Whats a 1970 cj5 worth

Have a 1970 jeep cj5 with a 225 v6 with a 3 speed. Fiberglass body. Newer 33's. Small lift. Runs out ok. Prob could use brakes. I am curious of what you guys think this thing is worth? The headlights need wired up, and it has no top or doors. Located in Peoria,il.

Depends on where you are. I'm in southern VA, you could probably get around $3k for it here. Check on craigslist in your area and see what comparable jeeps are going for, that's the best way to tell.

Thanks for the info. I have on Peoria Craigslist for $2600 firm. Just checking if you guys thought that was a good price for the jeep.

My rule of thumb is that any jeep with a decent frame, and which runs, is worth $2500. You could drop 1k in that, drive it a few years, and get your money all your $ back.

I think you have it priced pretty close as well. Bad thing about that $2500 mark is there are jeeps from the 60's to the 90's for sale.

Down here where I live that jeep would bring $3500 quick, very quick! Maybe even more than that.

Remember that what we often see are asking prices. CJs list for crazy prices. Just check eBay and other boards. Is it me or Jeeps generally look a lot better from the outside?

Dude, if you lived down here in the deep south and as close to the gulf coast beaches as I do you would be surprised what people are asking for jeeps, and you would be amazed at what some of them are selling for. Wished I had your jeep to sell down here. Good luck with it.
