what's a good deal?

Im looking at a project Jeep on Craiglist. It's an automatic transmission cj-7 with 26,000 miles, apparrently running, '98 jeep wrangler soft top included (dunno why) and back seats to a '98 too. it also has the hard doors.

the seller is asking $900 dollars for it, and this Jeep is reallly tempting my dad and I.

so what do u guys think?
any info you think id like to know? (you're the experts)

(its a 1977 8cyl btw)

sounds pretty cheap, but it will be a good project vehicle (i love cj7's). I would check it out and see what kind of shape it is in. make sure you check the body and frame for major rust; and the engine, tranny, t-case and diffs. even if it has a blown engine or tranny you could still probably part it out for more than $900, especially if the body tub is in good shape. have the guy send you pics and post them.

i agree, check it out, make sure its not rusted out. at least you can sell the tj soft top cuz it will do you no good. i love cj's but they're a lot of work. thats a great price if it isn't rotted, and the title is clear.

That does sound like a decent deal but a lot of work. You could pick up a road worthy CJ for not much more, I bet. If you're looking for one that's ready for the roads and trails I have one I need to get rid of.
