Where's the DJ forum???

1971 DJ-5B

A truly unique Jeep

Started life with the US Postal Service, and yes, she's RHD.

Bought a new JKU (yes, I got a RHD 2010... why change now?) and I'm considering selling it...

It's 2wd, stock 949 (I think) tranny. I-6 232 from a 77-79 DJ-5.

HEI, offy intake w/ edelbrock 500, modified hookers, true dual homegrown "cherry bomb" exhaust, aluminum radiator (2 core, but works more like a 6 core) with elec. fan (cab switched, no therm), body lift is whack (in a bad way) I was experimenting with all sorts of things , diamond plate dash (built from scratch), has charging issues ( I think it's the regulator or alternator, but the battery could be toast too... it REALLY needs a one wire, in a bad way) and it might need a starter (but that could be the charging issue...)

oh, and yes, that IS in fact a Jack Daniels bottle. It is a functioning coolant overflow

so anyways, whatya think?

looking for both opinions in general and what folks think it might be sellable for... I have NO experience buying/selling jeeps, and as a jeep it's WAY out in left field

LOL, well the whole theory so far was to be as cheap as possible which is why it's still a 2WD. It's just a toy and was never meant to be a daily driver. It has been offroading and does amazing in sand and does fair at crawling (except that it lays over REALLY easily), but it doesn't do mud at all.

I got a JK now, and as much as I like playing with this one, the JK is more fun, and I can take my kids in it (which was the whole point of getting a JKL), so I find myself in the driveway tearing up my JK while the DJ sits there collecting dust, and I figured I'd see about selling it, hopefully to someone who will pay a little more attention to it
