Wiper problems in 72

has anyone changed wiper motor in a 72 cj5. Old one worked fine then just quit. Washer motor worked fine. The motor is a 2 speed with washer. I replaced the motor from an online parts dealer, installed it but still will not work. Washer works but not wipers. I have power to switch and from switch to the wiper motor but motor doesn't work. I am scratching my head. thanks for any help

Hi, have you tried to bypass the wiper switch or did you replace your wiper switch?

hi fluff, no, I didn't replace switch or bypass switch. The switch also operates the washer pump and it works fine

Hi Josephs, I had a 74 model CJ and it did about the same thing. When you pushed for your washers, it would work, but the wiper would not work. I could get voltage through the switch to the wiper motor but the switch was burnt and would not get the amp's to start the wiper motor. I took me several days to find this out. I hope this helps you.. Good luck......

Fluff, fixed the wipers. Checked the switch as you suggested, switch was fine but there was a bad ground that a friend of mine fixed. Thanks again for the help
