You Never Know What's in a Barn

I am a TJ owner and a little out of my league on early Jeeps/Willys so I need to defer to the experts in this thread. Got an email yesterday and it seems that a friend of my sister's had a relative leave them a 1947 Willy's Jeep.

I checked with my local Jeep restoration shop, and they identified it as a CJ2A. The only question is, where did the canopy/jump seats come from. Never seen anything like it (someone's early homemade version of a Scrambler perhaps).

I've posted some pics. Any insight would be appreciated. New owner has asked me about value, but I couldn't begin to guess

I can't tell from the pictures but did someone make it into a 'woody'?

Trying to get some more info (i.e. does it run) and some "out of the barn" pictures.

I need more pics and I can tell you a lot more about this jeep. I can say that it's a earlier 1947 2a. If you get me the ser# I can tell you way more.
