It comes with Marine Corps decals, but all I wanted were the stars:
(1) 20" star with circle
(2) 16" stars with circle
(2) 6" stars with circle
(2) UNITED STATES MARINE CORP decals 2" x 26" long
(2) U.S.M.C decals 1.7" x 8" long

You can also get them singular from here: Military-Graphics Decals Stickers Medals Awards Insignia Vinyl Graphics - Home

You can't tell from this pic, but I have a large star on the hood:
Hey,
I like your setup and I checked the website you provided in your link. However the price is different. The website show now price of $37.00 USMC Military Jeep Decals decal stars restoration Willys M37 M38 - $37.00 : House of Grafx, Your One Stop Vinyl Graphics Shop
Is this what you were discussing in your post or is it something else.
Also, were you able to customize your letters/numbers as again, the website you mentioned does not seem to have that ability.

By the way, your decals looks very nice!!

You're right, it looks like the prices really shot up.
I just found a place that has better prices and they have the hood numbers too.

I can't attest to the quality, I just found them on Google. I had my hood numbers custom made locally. Had I known about these guys I would have gone with them, they are half the price of what I paid.

last question
Do you know if yours hood letters/numbers are 2 or 3" tall??

I figured you have a 20" star and I will go with 20 as well, but cannot picture the letters.

Also did you put any starts on hood??

  • My hood numbers are 3" tall.
  • The star on the hood is 20" and 16" stars on the doors.
  • Additionally, the stars on the front and rear are 6" tall.
It looks like you can get all of the stars as well as the hood numbers from Solar Graphics (the "USA" would be included in the package with the stars)

The additional lettering (Tire pressure, Fuel and No Step) are all 1"

The markings on the body are all vinyl stickers and the ones in the wheel wells, fenders and bumpers are all stencils.

I got the 1" lettering (both vinyl and stencil) from a place called Military Stencils (go figure - lol)

I have a star on my hood and it looks like the common one available, with the circle around it. Anyway, it looks too small so I'm looking to replace it with a star with no circle and just as large, if not larger than the one on the first page of the thread. Anyone know about the size I need?

Well, if you are going with historical accuracy, the Jeeps that rolled off the assembly line in WWII had a 15-inch star on the hood. From 1943 - 1945, the Army painted a white circle around them once it was delivered to the field, increasing the diameter to 20-inches. You may want to cut out a few rough stars from pieces of paper and set them in place to see what looks best for you.

There are a couple of places I'd recommend:

Military Stencils has the 15" stars for $11.50 each and the 20" ones for $ 20.00
Military Graphics has the 15" stars for $19.00 each and the 20" ones for $24.00

They are both right here in the US of A and the prices I listed don't include shipping.

Ive been trying to decide what to do to mine since i got it almost 2 yrs ago. Im torn between desert tan and od green. Then there is the color/size/location of decals/stencils. So many choices. I guess i need more jeeps so i can do all of my ideas. 87 Florida i like yours alot. Either way its going to be my own blend of authentic military and my own personality. Next step is to platidip the wheels black

Su guys, I want to put one of those army star decals in my front doors. But I want the distressed version of it. I see the recommended size is 16 inch. I want a good quality one so I went to Quadratec and they have a 19 inch. I don't have my jeep with me at the moment so I cannot measure. Would 19 inch look good in my front door? ANy idea where I can find a 16 inch, distressed, good quality decal?

Thanks!!!
