Chasing Classic Cars - 44 Willys Sighting

Just caught a re-run of a September Chasing Classic Cars episode in which one of the feature vehicles was a 44 Willys GP (military jeep). The most interesting thing is that this particular jeep was that it was freshly assembled from a recently found crate. It's listed with either 47 hours or 47 miles on the clock (not sure if I heard correctly which).

There was also a quick shot of a 45 Ford GP version, but not much detail was provided. Ultimately, both were auctioned in the mid-$20s (thousand). Great bargain for a collector.

Here's a link to the episode segment: Chasing Classic Cars: 1944 Jeep Auction : Velocity

I was fortunate enough to drive a military version Jeep during a training exercise at Ft. Irwin, CA during the early 80's; not too long after this they were decommissioned from service.

Enjoy.
