Until about Nov of last year, I had a Model A Ford Roadster. Read somewhere that the Jeeps made by Ford for WWII used the same 4 cyl block as the Model A and Model B 4 cyl's. Anyone know if this is true or just an old Ford legend?
Never heard that, but maybe in the Ford prototypes.
Willys got the contract after Bantam couldn't handle the production mainly baised on the Willys-Overland "Go Devel" engine. Ford was required to produce their Jeeps to the exact specifications as Willys so everything could be interchangeable. Basicaslly the Ford GPW Jeeps had the Willys MB Go Devel engines.
