Hey all, i am planning on painting my Jeep TJ Desert Tan as seen in this video, however i do not know exactly what it is called or what paint code it would be. I always see so many shades of tan but this one is the exact color i am looking for, Can anyone help me out??

Also i plan on doing my first spray jobby to break in my new compressor, I know it won't be perfect but i enjoy doing everything myself, What could anyone recommend for a clear coat, can you buy flat clear coats to put in the paint gun or dullers or how does it work? I have a lot to learn for painting however this is why i ask now in advance.:)

IMO the best military paint on the market is from Gillespie Coatings. Sounds like the color you are looking for is shade 30277 "Lusterless Desert Sandust"

It is sold several places but here is a link from Army Jeep parts: https://www.armyjeepparts.net/t-GCI_paint.aspx (there is a link at the left of that page for ordering)

Awesome, I appreciate it highly. I will probably order from that site, However i must say the lusterless desert sandust looks much paler on their website, you think that is just the picture? I am having trouble visualing the actual paint on their site, Thanks!

Not sure, but you may be able to get a paint swatch from them.

Either way, the paint they sell is true mill spec. so you need to decide if you want authentic or a specific color you like.

When rebuilding my Willys, technically I should use shade 319 but I like the look of 33070 (which was the color of the WWII Ford GPW Jeep). The colors are more different than the swatch looks below.
