I have a rugged brown pearl 13 jku sahara with body color top. I really like the look of the military decal sets. I want opinions on putting these on my brown jeep.

Now THAT is very cool! Take it down to it's essence, strip it, paint it a flat matte color and have fun!

Riding motorcycles as well we have an expression that sort of fits here which is, "You ride your own ride". That said you could get all the military stickers and stenciling your Jeep could sustain and I would respect that. A lot worse stuff could be put on a Jeep. OTOH I have a Vietnam Veteran sticker, some Wings and Retired Army stickers and that is about it. The Jeep on to itself speaks volumes whereas the stickers tell a part of my story. Just saying...

To be honest, I sometimes feel like a nerd with my Freedom edition stars. I just wonder if some people thinks it's military-wannabe when in reality I bought it like that because I like the toy/fun look.

So it comes down to caring what others think versus caring what yourself thinks.

Since my stars are still there, i'd say caring what I think has won out.

So get your damn emblems already.

Re: my Army friends above - yeah I got out in 99, but PT was definitely at 6:30 and the Marines on base weren't at it any sooner than we were.

As for military stickers, I dunno. I mean it's your call. For me, the Jeep's heritage as a military vehicle really doesn't mean much to me. If I had an actual service Jeep, it would be different. And, not to get too political, but after the bailout I have a lot different feelings about Chrysler and GM, I hardly feel like a "patriot" buying one of their vehicles.

That said, my feelings obviously didn't stop me - the Wrangler is a unique vehicle, it has no real competition, and I am very happy I bought one. But I bought it for what it is, not for what it was or what it represents.

But for you? Who are we to say? If the Jeep's military heritage is important to you and you want to demonstrate that in some way, by all means go for it. After all, that is what our country and our military are all about.

Fort Drum starts PT at 0700, way to cold to be rucking or running or both before 0700. Everywhere else I've been it started at 0630.

I think some subdued American flags would look alright. Or you could get the window decal with a front sight post and says "This is my peace sign".

Im assuming the stickers referred to are the big Star that many are putting on the Jeep?? If you are talking about unit stickers etc, I look at it this way. My Jeep is my Jeep and I really couldnt give a rats a$$ as to what others think when they see me driving. If I like it thats all that matters.

It's your JEEP!!!! Do whatever you want to it! Who give's a sh*t!

I put Canadian Flags on mine with the name Destroyer, and Thors Hammer on the back side.

My wife doesn't mind it to much because I have a black wrangler, and bought matte black decals.

Either way I couldn't careless....

If you want to be patriotic, and you support the military or maybe you are fascinated by war/history and jeep heritage why not slap a few stickers on it.

People Bit#h way to much.

I was in the Air Force...
I don't remember PT. LOL
:hide:

I'm military decaling up my Commando Green JKU soon (Already replaced the "sport" decals with flags).
I just had a hard time deciding on white or matte black.
I got matte black flags and they have a cool subdued look, but I like the contrast of the white (might be a little flashy though).

The best part is that it's vinyl...
If you change your mind, you can peel it back off.

If you decide to go ahead with decals, with your brown jeep, don't go white, for it will sceem... go more like flat light brown, beige, champagne or gold....... something that would give the statement you want but not look like you bought the white decal from ebay and slapped it on there....

What about the black flag decals…one on each side mirrored? I know it has military background but I love this decal. By putting these flags on my vehicle would I be disrespecting those who serve? I look at it as waving the American flag out in my lawn. Thoughts?
I don't see any problem with it, I look at it like one my JK. I did it up with a WWII Army Air Corps theme. I was never in the AIr Corps but my Father was so I did it as a tribute to him and the men and women who served.

I just put a Marine Corps sticker and a Harley Davidson sticker on my back window of my JK 2dr, that's all it needs
