It was the original Jeep color.

I bought a 2013 JKU in Commando Green because Jeep finally made a color that was really close to OD green. It's what color all Wranglers should be.

I bought a Commando Green JK with a specific plan. I have a set up MetalCloak ExoSkin parts getting powder coated in Olive Drab (RAL 6022) right now. This will give me the 3 tone look with the Commando Green, smaller amounts of the darker Olive Drab on parts specifically connected to Black outer pieces (flares, Rocker Guards & Bumpers).

Olive Drab looks perfect when done in a flat/matte finish. Done in a gloss finish... thank you, no.

Nice paint job.

When it comes time to re-paint, I'm gonna go with OD.

One question on your rig: Is that a TJ or JK? Did you add sutn signals to the grill since you have flat fenders?

I like the look

I 'borrowed' this color from another Forum member (rmeier) and I can't thank him enough. The color is perfect and was used by the military from 41-45.

Color code #34087 FS595 is the "expert approved" Olive Drab color. I belong to a club and if your mil jeep is dated 1950 and up you are expected to have this color code or it seems you have to explain your self to everyone. I got my jeep color matched and its really close but its a shade lighter. Everyone always asks me why I didnt paint it to spec...

Thanks for the info, I just starting to get into this stuff myself. I'm probably going to go through this for my Willys. The 33070 was originally for the Ford GPW and the Willys MB used the shade 319 which is a bit lighter. I figure "oh well", with all the other discrepancies on my rig, it'll pass casual inspection but not from someone that knows what they are looking for. (I still think 87 Florida YJ's Jeep looks cool)

Great color. I was so happy to see the commando green for 2013 I ran over and bought one the minute I saw it. I have a black EGA in exactly the same place on my JKU.
