Before I bought my current jeep I had a torch red 2003 SVT Cobra. It was puting down 465 hp and matching tq to the rear wheels with some simple bolt ons. I loved that mustang but I sold it for something even funner (my jeep).

Thats a nice website. The website I'd frequent alot was called SVTPerformance They have it organized into different groups including the Lightnings. Its been a few years since I've posted there but you can still find my dyno sheets postings... my userid on there was the same (ygohome)

I almost bought a lightning but it only has 2 doors and no towing so I picked up a dodge ram srt-10 with the four door 500 horse power and 8,000# towing capacity
I can take my wife and kid and still haul my quads to the dunes

You know the Lightnings have a 5000lb towing capacity, right?? ....not to mention they are faster than the Srt's, LOL!! I tow my bikes with my L.

no I didnt know that you can tow with the lighting, As far as I new they didnt have a towing capacity.
the srt 10 has a 8,000# towing capacity and the only time I have seen a lighting beat the srt is if he did a pulley change and only then did I see the lighting give the srt a good run.

Just so you know I really dont have a ram srt-10 I was only messing around on the post just to see the feedback
I have been thinking of buying one so I can tow my jeep to moab or the rubicon or even the hammers
and still have a fast truck

I also have to have the quadcab I need a back seat for my little girl

L's are not faster unless they are modded. not in the 1/4 or in the top end.

^ agree the grill is hideous and I'd replace it with a full one, but having seen them up close, I really like them. The bulged out fenders really set it off.

I traded in my 98 Cobra drop top for my Jeep.

I don't get there as fast any more, but I sure can get to a lot more places.

"old man" ??!!
(lifting skirt and looking)
Coulda fooled ME!

LMAO... guess again kid!

Yea, I know. It's OBM's truck. I personally prefer a shortbed Chebby. But, I'm a girl, so that's to be expected.

Thanks for the kind words on my rig though.
It's had a few mods since that pic. Funny how they grow up while you aren't paying attention.

Ford guys? Blue runs in my family.

There's my '01 Cobra. I did the 3.6L engine swap and stock rims for that sleeper look. Smokes every stock Civic on the road.

I'm a big ford fan...i havent owned a cobra but did buy a Contour SVT because i wanted somethin manual, 4 door, and rare. Bought a 1998 CSVT with 40K on it (has since been sold) but its been the most fun car i've driven...and i've driven a ton since i used to be a lot porter at a Ford dealer haha.

Nothin special...but i'm not one of those kids (i'm 24) to think his car is FAST. It was a quick car for what it was...ran a 13.7, but mostly it was just fun to drive and was clean. Hood is carbon fiber but i hate the mismatched look so i sanded the clear and painted it. If i could do it again, i wouldn't pick up the grill's i had and would of gone with a cleaner black look. Oh well though...

I'm dying for an 04 cobra. That car (and my jeep) have my heat. I'd love to make it as close to a track car as possible while still keeping it street legal. My brother is actually working a his own version of a SVT......Ford Ranger SVT hahaha. Its a 98 roush swaybars (rear one too took a little fabbing) djm lowering kit 4 in the front 5 in the back front has upper and lower control arms all new polyurethane bushings rear is a axle flip kit with a c-notch kit from djm doeshtec shocks front and back gt rims with 245 goodyears Z rated eventually upgrading to some saleen rims hes building up a 5.0 out of a explorer forged internals h-beam connecting rods, aluminum heads, titanium valves, and a turbo are the plans for the motor a t5t6 transmission built 8.8 rear end. Building up the parts to do a custom 4 link in the rear. The goal is 550 hp. It handles like its on rails as is now can hook a right hand turn at 60 no problem throws your body into the door or centerconsole.
