Have you considered extending the mount bracket further so your side views aren't obscured by the rim? You've got some pretty big blinders on with the current view.

Thanks! I'll certainly give that a shot! I don't mind drilling in to the plastic mount but I really didn't want to drill in to that bumper!

I ordered the 730n with my JKURX...I did think about just getting the base head unit then upgrading to an aftermarket NAV system like the Pioneer AVIX-7000NEX. I'l probably kick myself later for not doing that!

I am sure 730 will be good. I just wanted to keep my options open so I got 130.

I really like Pioneer navi's but I was more worried about theft than sound. The lessor of the two evils I think. When I am topless or using my soft top I didn't want to worry about it. I have the 430, wonder if sound quality was as bad as your 130 you changed out.

I was hoping for Alpine system to be decent, but 130 was bad. But I am also spoiled by the setups like Acura ELS, and BMW Harman kardon I had on my previous cars. So this Pioneer setup is a big step up from the factory, and really opened up the factory amp and speakers. I have not even heard the base from the factory subwoofer until now.

Thumbs up nice build!

Enjoying your build thread!
I have a very similar JKURX (sans the body color fenders) coming in a few months.
So we have both coasts covered...

Thanks. Good luck on your wait. It will be there before you know it

I waited two months before I got mine, and already forgot about the wait.

You can also take a ~8-10" aluminum flat bar from a diy store and put two bends in it to make a flat S shape. Then bolt it to the tire carrier flat top, just below where he did his. It's really stable without any shake. I think Starbrite posted a few pics of mine.

How do you like that camera? I like mine, but it doesn't seem wide enough. Does this one seem to be a true 170 degrees?

It is actually very wide. I do believe it is 170 degrees. The quality seems to be fine. I have not tested it at night yet.

Quick update on couple of things. I have decided to cancel my order for IPF H4 lights and went ahead and ordered the Truck-Lights LED Kit with anti flicker harness. I have also ordered the Teraflex Leveling kit. After doing some research I think it will do the trick for what I am looking for at the moment. I should have everything by early next week.

I have also received my Rigid Industries Dually Floodlights and Rigid Industries A-Pillar Mount Kit that I will install shortly.

I am still contemplating whether I want to get an SPOD to run my duallies, and a 20" LED bar in the near future (which is an overkill for only couple of lights), or just get couple of relays and some switches and install them in the pillar or somewhere else.

Great call! I decided against the IPF lights and will go with the same LEDs! I decided against the SPOD myself. I'd like to be able to shut off all of the lights by simply turning the key off. From the 5 or so SPOD install videos I watched it looks like they aren't using a switched power lead and instead are relying on someone to remember to turn everything off. I can see myself leaving on lights by mistake. Which leveling kit? I'm looking at the Teraflex premium leveling kit and maybe use a .5 puck in the rear to keep some of the rake. All depends on how much dip I get in the front with the Maximus grill guard and winch package. Undecided on shocks....always been a fan of Rancho 9000s.

Would love to see that...would you post a pic or a link to a pic? I'll be at my in-laws for 2 weeks right after I pick up the jeep and need a project to occupy my time...lol

The main thing for me is that I feel that SPOD is an overkill for my needs. If I ever get to the point where I have 4+ devices to control, I will most likely get one but for now its just a waste of money.

I just got a basic TeraFlex Leveling Kit

Its a 2 pucks 1" each for each side in the front, and 1" puck for the back, plus new front end links. This will give me a leveling for the front rake, and a little height (1.5" overall) to get it ready for new 33s (when they come, or should I say when budget is there).

Rancho 9000s are definitely great shocks, and I will most likely get either them or fox shocks when I am ready to go with a new lift.

I've looked at the pucks too and might go that route. One concern we've had ( more my wife than me) is doing something that voids part of the warranty. I've seen a lot about folks having a warranty claim denied because of some mods, and pucks seem like the best way to get a little more tire clearance while keeping the most % of stock parts. After the warranty, then I'll start looking at long arm kits. Since it'll be a daily driver and a weekend trail rig pucks might be the answer! Might also go with a front and rear JKS adjustable track bars if this lift pulls the axle off center.

Ran the wires, but they are not hooked up yet. Still waiting on the relays, Pillar pod, and switches. Hopefully get it connected sometime next week if I have any free time.

Picking up my new floor jack and stands tomorrow since the ones I have are short. And while I am at it will pick up a set of air tools to use with my air compressor to make my life a little easier during the leveling kit install (and for the future needs ).Hopefully get the kit installed this week.

LED headlights as well as pillar pod with switches should be here in couple of days. Will start getting everything soldered and wired up. Got a few extra relays and switches to wire up for future accessories.

Received my pod, switches and relays today. Had couple of hours free so I did some soldering and wiring. Switches and pod are done. Here are couple of pics:

Now I just have to mount it, connect the relays (and mount them), and connect the lights.

Will post final pics once its done.

It's going to be a nice day today so I took the advantage and got her washed.

Truck-Lites should be in today, so will try to get them installed, as well as additional accessories for the wiring of the solenoids. So hopefully I can get that finished up today as well if time permits.

I agree that the Spod is over kill but its there when you decide to add items. It will make adding them so easy and clean. I ordered mine and its sitting in the garage until my X is delivered mid month. I have an air compressor sitting there also and will order lights when the jeep arrives. I like the idea of all the switched looking the same and in one spot.

Just saw your pod switches and that looks good.

Switches look very clean. What are you going to control with each?

Also, I noticed the little microphone for the Pioneer radio you installed and I have a question. I was thinking of ordering my 15' JKURX when the time comes with the 730n but the Pioneer looks so much nicer plus the camera you added is sweet. My question is, on the left side of the steering wheel there's a little phone & person speaking button, are those two no longer working with the new radio? Is the microphone the replacement for these features? If so you should look into getting the little blank steering wheel plate to replace those unused buttons unless they dont bother you being there. Im very picky and would have those taken out... Sweet ride none the less. Good job and will keep being subscribed to this thread for sure!

Thanks.

As of right now I have only dually lights on the a pillars, and will order a 20" LED light bar that will go on the front bumper. After that I am still not sure so two switches will be free for now.

Yes after you install the aftermarket radio, he uconnect feature no longer works. But the rest of the buttons like volume, channel selections do, as long as you have the proper adaptor. Yes the radio comes with its own bluetooth and microphone, so I placed it in the corner (kind of). Honestly it does not really bother me that the buttons are there

I will have to do some research to see if I can find a flush mount microphone at some point.

Thanks guys. Installed my GraBars today. Everything went in very smoothly but the driver side was a b**** to install. One of the bolts that was sent something was not right with threads so I did not want to completely strip things, so I had to go in and back out a dozen times before I could finally get it installed. In any case here they are:
